With deep sorrow for our loss, but with joy in the knowledge that he is with Christ, we announce the passing of Wayne Christopher Attwood on September 18, 2021, at the age of 80. Wayne was a devoted and exemplary husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

He is survived by his precious wife of 59 years, Muriel, and his children Todd (Patricia), Lynn (Paul), Kemp (Natalia), Bryn (Stacy), and his special nephew Corry who is like a son. He is the cherished “dad” of Bonnie, dear friend to Michael, and uncle to Sean and Christina. He will be profoundly missed by his grandchildren Sarah (Tyler), Joel (Jolene), Taylor (Amber), Annah (Maph), Abby (Kaleb), Ruth, Judah, Jesse, Esther, Sam-Jin, Naomi, Hope, Grace, Connor, Nathan, Emily and Logan, his great grandchildren Carter, Caroline, Axel, Eden, Audi and Amy, his sisters Irene (Duaine), Marlene (Brian) and Wendy (Ken) and dear friend Fred Cronmiller.

Wayne passed away suddenly while he and Muriel were visiting with family and friends at Liard Hotsprings, British Columbia.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, you are welcome to make a donation to the ministry of Paul and Lynn Hanthorn who are missionaries with the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission.

The family thanks everyone for their generous support, prayers, and love. Muriel would like to express special gratitude to the staff at Liard Hotsprings Lodge.

UPDATE: Given that members of Wayne’s family are in isolation due to COVID, a memorial service will not be held in the coming months. The family and friends will publish their celebration of Wayne’s life on this website in the near future.
